Our first full day in Nice would turn out to be fabulous indeed!
But first . . .
The National Championship Game
pictures just keep rolling in
This was my favorite one of the day with Fred "Papi" Bastiand, John van den Raadt and, of course. the Casque D'Argent Trophy.
First Mock Up of our
Championship Rings
I would rather see the word NATIONAL replace DIVISION and maybe replace the football with DIII.
Otherwise . . . WOW!!!!!!!!!!
What do you think?
Meanwhile, back in Nice . . .
Wasn't this the P.I. Agency used
in "Midnight in Paris"?
Colorful Morning on the Riviera
I LOVE Olive Oil
Olive Oyl too, now that I think of her.
Oh My!
Cours Saleya boasts of a
wonderful Flower Market on
the way to the Mediterranean Sea
Carnival in Nice must be something
to remember
Of course if you can remember Carnival then you probably did not experience it properly.
Bright Outdoor Café
Desserts at the Marketplace
I LOVE Sun Dried Tomatoes Too
A Small Bouquet for my Beloved?
Thérèse
Queen of the Market
The dish that earned her the nobility status is what she is seen serving up to us here, socca.
Socca is an interesting chickpea crêpe that tastes quite good with a dash of pepper. It goes down smoothly with a cappuccino.
Laurie and her love of cherries
Garlic I believe
Odd Looking Tomatoes
We have yet to try them and time is quickly running out.
Spices in France to Die For!
Lavender
Aromatic
Adam and Eve after the Fall
Obviously, Eve was heading to the beach as this violent argument broke out.
Marseille Soaps on Display
French Kiss
This Gelato Store Would Be A

On a Beach Towel?
They serve a great café here

A Colorful Rue in Vieux Nice
All Rues Have Two Names
It can be confusing if you are not careful.
Laundry Day
In Hoc Signo . . .
Finally, we got to the BEACH!!!
Lots of rocks though
EUREKA!!!
The Castel Plage
"Two lounges and an umbrella in Row 2 plus a couple of towels SVP."
"These will do, merci."
Our View
Laurie and the Cabana Boy?
DAMN!!!
Fine Dining at the Castel Plage Too
Cliff Divers
Not quite like Acapulco but it would have to suffice.
Is the water warm Laurie?
Castel Plage Mosaic
What a GREAT day of doing nothing
at this cozy spot on the Cote D'Azur!

Native Flora
Jesus has a restaurant in Nice?
Amidst all the fun and beauty,
WWII once again touched down here
Henri Matisse lived in this
golden building for 17 years
I like the color blue
For dinner, we took a tip from Julien Urgenti and headed back to the Vieux Nice for a place called Restaurant Acchiardo.
It was A-M-A-Z-I-N-G!!!!!!!!!!!
We enjoyed great food, a good bottle of red wine and a fun atmosphere at reasonable prices at this traditional eating spot.
On our walk back to the hotel, we found our neighboring church in a much different light.
Notre Dame
Rosette Window lit from the inside
It was quite spectacular.
Reading Is FUNdamental
This was the fifth book in the Bruno, Chief of Police series written by Martin Walker.
These books revolve in equal parts around French murders, French culture and French cuisine. I've enjoyed reading all five of these tomes over the past year and a half.
As for Wednesday, it is on to . . .
MONACO!!!
I wonder if Bond will be there? James Bond.
