Another Day on HUDL and a Good Practice

Tuesday, 9 April, 2019

As Chicago Bears great Bronko Nagurski reminded me, in a mere . . .

. . . more days our son Michael
joins me in Varese!

So True

Today I received several outstanding photos from last Saturday night's hard fought 20-14 Overtime loss to the Cernusco Daemons.

The first came from the Italian DII website and the rest were taken by our amazing team photographer Ed Jazaj.

The Daemons ability to run the
ball was the difference in the game

HERE COME THE SKORPIONS!

Matteo Mozzanica had another
good game at Wide Receiver

Gang Tackling

NG Luca "Ceo" Bozzo

QB Giacomo "Jack" Micheli taking
charge in the huddle

DE Davide Vuolo had
an OUTSTANDING game

He had two QB Sacks for -17 yards and forced a fumble deep in Daemons territory that led to our second TD of the night.

The Line of Scrimmage . . .

. . . turns into The Pit

RB Dylan Auriema had a fine
night rushing the rock

Dylan scoring our first TD

White uniforms and a muddy field

It doesn't get any better than that!

DE Tomas Pedotti wears his
award decals in an unusual spot

WR Martino Piazzi made some
key plays in the game

Defensive Linemen Pedotti, Bozzo
and Vuolo ready to attack

LB Stefano Granelli and
DE Davide Vuolo closing in on the tackle

SWARM!

More Team Defense!

Ivan "Swito" Raso
and his fabulous beard

PHYSICAL running by Dylan Auriema

QB Giacomo "Jack" Micheli
is a GREAT team leader!

coveted Game Hammer
after the game for his efforts

A tough loss but we are still a team . . .

. . . and we have another game this
Saturday night

Our 2-2 Skorpions will host the 2-1 Desio Hammers at 6:30 p.m. at Skorpion Field in a key Italian DII Group A game.

After spending most of my day immersed in more HUDL based video study of the Hammers, I ventured into Varese mainly to return some DVDs to the Varese Public Library.

The city's main church
looked good as always today

In the evening, we had all four flags teams practicing from 6:30 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. and then the Prima Squadra took the field at 8:15 p.m.

It rained heavily during the flag workouts but, amazingly, it stopped during our Senior team's practice.

The skies were about to open
over the U15 squad and Coach DJ

A panorama of our U13, Women, U15
and U17 flag teams working out
at the same time on Skorpion Field

The rain is upon us!

We enjoyed a crisp practice with
a focused, spirited Senior Team

Reading Is FUNdamental

Based on the title, I thought
it would be based in Italy

Instead it was about lives of several oddball people who are residents of 44 Scotland Street in Edinburgh, Scotland.

It was a definite departure from my usual mystery/crime reads.
