Fifty Days in Europa

Buon girono Sicilia e America!

Giulio's bella mamma lives in a 4th story apartment right next to the Internet Cafe. She has graciously added pillows to the stairwell to keep customers happy and coming back for more.

The Dorm's famous 4th story Internet Cafe at 1:00 a.m.

Celebrating Fidel's decision not to run for President of Cuba after 50 years at the helm.

Think of all the possibilities.

Will I ever get tired of the beautiful house color schemes in Sicilia?

LAURIE IN ROMA: 8 days to go and I’ve got the fever…

Today is my 50th day in Europa, maybe we should celebrate this milestone after practice. Parade, band, fireworks, festival anyone?

Random Thought for the DayRonnie Lott was a Hall of Fame defensive back for the San Francisco 49ers, the Oakland Raiders, the U.S.C. Trojans and, of course, the Eisenhower High School Eagles of Rialto, California. It was at Eisenhower that I first saw Ronnie, then a sophomore, play as a tailback against our Thousand Oaks High School team in about 1974. He was a great player even then. The trademark for his greatness was his mental and physical toughness. In the NFL he once suffered a broken ring finger tip that the doctors said had to be operated on and pinned thus causing him to miss at least two games. He gave the doctors another option, cut off the injured fingertip so he would not miss anything.  HE PLAYED THAT SUNDAY. TRUE STORY!

Jason and Matt are going to fly to Roma tomorrow and return in time for Saturday’s afternoon practice. I plan on exploring the last few major sights in and around Catania while they are gone.

No big news or events to report as all is quiet and we continue with our great routine of football, food and road trips.
