After not getting home from the Skorpion family's victory celebration at the Bellavita Café in Varese until a little after 3:00 a.m. this morning and given my advanced age, I opted for a stay at home today.
Waking up to snow outside
the Villa Skorpion . . .
. . . helped make for an easier decision
I did have some graphic art things
to attend to indoors today
On one of the Skorpions Facebook sites today someone had posted some pictures from both last night's Varese Gorillas game and the Verona Mastini scrimmage two weeks ago.
Let's take a look at some of the photos from the Gorillas game first.
Our Ancient WARRIOR
CB/K Dario D'Adelfio
He had an excellent game last night.
RB Coach Cristian "Bumba" Bianchi
OL Gabriele Di Stefano
and Coach Enzo Petrillo
Five of our Defensive starters
They all played great first games against the Gorillas.
Stefano Granelli leading the
Skorpions on to the field
with the virgin Victory Hammer
Stefano's great play as a Strong Safety, Kicker and Punter earned him the coveted Red Hammer for being picked by the coaches as the Player-of-the-Game.
A bundled up Head Coach
LB Nicolas Principi on the tackle
RB Ema Della Bosca scoring the
first TD of the Skorpion's 2018 season
Defense is all about PURSUIT!
Words of Wisdom to our Defenders

NG Andrea Gorini played well
After a quick shower, Andrea was off to work behind the bar at the Bellavista Café. In a calculated, team bonding exercise, we all joined him there to celebrate our Derby game win.
TE Pietro Limido, OT Nicolò Moruzzi
and LB Tony Mitrano
They all played hard but they can all play better!
As for the Verona Mastini scrimmage pictures . . .
With OL Coach Leo Pozzato
Coach Giorgio Nardi with
Mastini HC Umberto Maggini
I'm a SKORPION!

It was cold ALL day outside
but it was toasty inside
the Villa Skorpion
All things considered, I made the right call today. Tuesday night's practice in refreshing Skorpion Weather should be FUN!
Game two of our eight game regular season schedule will be our home opener next Sunday, March 4th at 1:00 p.m. against the Cagliari Crusaders (0-0) who hail from Sardinia the Mediterranean Sea's second largest island.
In case you are wondering, Sicily is the biggest island in the Mediterranean Sea while Cyprus ranks third in size.
BEAT THE CRUSADERS!
