Travel Day from Kihei, Hawaii to Camarillo, California

Wednesday, March 13, 2024
Unfortunately, it was time for us to bring our latest few Adventures in Paradise to a close.

Maui is truly an island of wonder

We started the day with coffee at
Starbucks with our new Maui 'Ohana

At Starbucks, he is not part of the 'Ohana

He looked to me as if he would have interesting tales to share with us. Maybe we could extend him a hand to join us.

Just saying . . .

On the drive out of Kihei towards
the Kahului Airport we spotted this
shop of note

We had no time to stop though.

The view from the home of Ed and Gail
Andrews' home in Kihei

I believe that Ed and Gail are the cornerstones of the Starbucks 'Ohana. We stopped briefly at their beautiful island home to drop off food items that we did not want to go to waste after our imminent departure.

In return they gave us slices of delicious pumpkin bread and some chocolate chip cookies to tide us over during the flight home to Los Angeles.

One last lunch at the Kahului Airport
with the Johnsons

Laurie and I shared their excellent Cuban sandwich which got me to thinking about all of the other fun places where we dined over the past ten days.

Let's recap some of the places that you should frequent on your next trip to Maui.

For breakfast, I would suggest these spots:
Black Rock Pizza in Kihei
Grandma's Coffee House in Kula
Kihei Caffe in Kihei
Tasty Crust in Wailuku

We only had lunch out twice and at the same memorable spot both times for huge, amazing Ahi tacos:
South Maui Fish Company in Kihei

For pastry and baked goods, I recommend:
Baked On Maui in Haiku
Cinnamon Roll Place in Kihei
Da Green Coffee Bar in Kihei
Kitoko Pastries in Kihei
Komoda Store and Bakery in Makawao
Sugar Beach Bake Shop in Kihei
The Maui Cookie Lady in Makawao

Our excellent dinner dining spots were:
Coconut's Fish Cafe in Kihei
Fred's Mexican Cafe in Kihei
Kihei Caffe in the Maui Coast Hotel in Kihei
Kula Bistro in Kula
Moose McGillycuddy's in Kihei
Ocean Organic Vodka Distillery in Kula
Three's Bar and Grill in Kihei

May I also mention that, if you can wrangle yourself into Kihei's Starbucks 'Ohana, a "Pupu Mania" evening at the seaside home of Ed and Gail Andrews is simply not to be missed!

The West facing coast of Maui, where
the city of Kihei sits, is the springboard
to lots of wonderful memories

We bid a fond farewell to the Johnsons who were awesome hosts as always during our ten days on Maui.

THANK YOU, Mark and Susie!

We sailed through TSA's Airport Security process easily to board our five hour American Airlines flight home. It was a smooth and efficient flight that allowed us to catch up on some much needed rest after the leisurely but still somewhat frenetic pace of the past ten days.

Michael picked us up at LAX to
chauffeur us home to Camarillo

THANK YOU, Michael!

Random notes from EuroBall . . .

This box containing ten helmets that we sent
to the Guadalajara Stings arrived in Madrid
today just in time for next Sunday's game

A nice visual of the current
Italian Football League standings
with the 2-0 Varese Skorpions on top!

And growing . . .

The International Amateur American Football League is collaborating with the Sanremo Waves to host both a Men's and a Women's tackle football tournament in Sanremo, Italy next October.

Who's going with me?

Finally, this from the net . . .

That is correct

Sorry but I'm not that
badass at all

I have found this to be
one of life's Eternal Truths

ALOHA MAUI,
HOLA CAMARILLO!
