ALOHA from Maui!

Monday, March 4, 2024

We were up at the crack of dawn for our drive to LAX, courtesy of son Michael, for our 8:59 a.m., six hour American Airlines flight to Kahului on the Hawaiian island of Maui.

A ten day vacation with Mark and Susie Johnson is always fraught with adventure for Laurie and I.

Laurie and I almost wore these
exact same travel outfits

Luckily, we avoided a potential fashion faux pas by wearing something else on our flight today.

After a smooth flight we landed in
Maui at about 1:00 p.m. local time

The Johnson's drove us to this fine
dining spot in Kihei from the airport

It may have still been Monday, but
the ahi tuna tacos were still AMAZING!

The view from the Johnson's
condo never disappoints

Mark, on the left, lost his first ever
Whitest Person Alive contest to
this man from Oakland, California

Nice shade tree over Three's Bar & Grill

This was the scene of both the Whitest Person Alive contest and our fabulous dinner.

After dinner, we strolled through
the South Maui Gardens looking
for some dessert

Tiki torches are big in Maui

Pink Tacos?

Well, tomorrow is Taco Tuesday after all.

Eventually, we found cookies
and a shared banana split

Our first half day in Maui had a nice pace to it but things will get much busier on Tuesday we are both sure.
