Coffee Tuesday

Happy Birthday!!!

Our youngest son, Mike Contreras, turned 36 today. Here he is with his two week old son, Jacob.

You blink and they are way more than just grown up . . .

SWISS FACT-OF-THE-DAY

Rolex is a Swiss company that pioneered the waterproof watch in 1926. The company ran a brilliant advertising campaign featuring adventurers and explorers. They were supplied with the fine timpieces and shown in full-page ads casually reading the time in cockle-shell boats in the mid-Pacific, on the equator in darkest Borneo surrounded by head-hunters or on a polar expedition with only a faithful pack of huskies for company.

This article on the Tigers appeared in today's local newspaper. From what I've been told, it is the first article about the team in a long, long time. The picture of Tiger RB Daniel Gygax in last Sunday's Basel game was a big plus.

I have no real clue about the aerticles content as it is written in German for some reason.

A big THANK YOU to sportswriter Raphael Hadorn for taking the time to come to our game and recognize the hard work that the Thun Tigers have done in preparation for the 2012 season.

Spring flowers continue to bloom

I walked into town to finish my train travel arrangements for my trips to Lyon, France and Amsterdam, The Netherlands this week. On the way to the Thun Bahnhof I saw the usual beautiful scenes like . . .

The church on Thun Castle Hill and

The Thun Castle

Besides my usual shopping, I did make one big decision today and purchased . . .

A genuine Italian coffee machine!

This Martello brand "Cascolino" was on sale at the Aldi Suisse discount supermarket and, given the cost of a cup of coffee in town, it should pay for itself in just a few weeks.

As for the rest of my day, it was all about reviewing our Basel game film and starting to put together a new game plan for next week's game against the Luzern Lions.

I think I'll have a cup of joe.

36 years?
Is that really possible?
