I spent the vast majority of the day inside the apartment viewing and analyzing game videos on HUDL of our opponents as it is . . .
. . . GAME WEEK in Gijón!
While it is Week 4 of the Liga Nacional de Fútbol Americano's (LNFA) 2025 schedule, it is only our Gijón Mariners third contest having had a bye during Week 2 play.
Saturday's pass happy opponents
are the Zaragoza Hurricanes (0-2)
The Hurricanes have called 81 pass plays in their two games.
The Mariners and Hurricanes
are tied for Fourth Place in the
LNFA's Western Conference
As there was a lot of rain again today, staying indoors was not a strain on my wanderlust mind.
In the late afternoon, I did get hungry and needed to get away so I headed a few blocks down the set of buildings sheltered from the elements by large arcades in search of sustenance.
The spot always looks of interest
when I walk by it
So I decided to . . .
. . . enter and have an early dinner
No sidra today, I needed a clear head for practice tonight.
The order of croquetas casera was delightful and the traditional Asturian fabada soup was perfect on this second straight wet, blustery day.
A slice of almond cake and a café cortado rounded out the meal, I was now just about ready for practice tonight.
Internet news from the world of international flag football . . .
IFAF announced its lineup for
next August's World Championship
Flag Football Tournament in China
All of the Mariners family hope that
our flag football guru, Daniel Castañon,
will be a part of the Team Spain staff
The Mariners Junior flag team
was hard at work when I arrived
at our practice facility
Our Senior team had another positive, productive practice tonight. We remained on a good path for these two hours of work.
Besides it being Game Week for our Mariners Men's team, our flag teams also have games at our Las Mestas game site on Sunday.
The Mariners play their flag
football as part of the Liga Norte
under the auspices of the
Federación de Fútbol Americano
del Principado de Asturias
Sunday's slate of flag football games:
