Mundane Monday

Monday, 25 February, 2019

I forgot to mention in the weekend's blogposts that covered our American football mania with the Milano Seamen during our Tribute to Sem Molteni that we were doing something special for an as of yet unnamed member of both the Seamen and Skorpions.

Sem, I have been told, was all about advocating for the players of our game with these two clubs that he both helped over the years.

With that in mind, the Skorpions came up with a terrific idea.

The Skorpions Snack Bar
at work on a chilly Saturday

Yes, besides the usual culinary items, we also sell beer, wine and, most importantly, prosecco out of the snack bar.

This is Italy you know.

Of course, on Sunday, the Polenta
and Gorgonzola was a big hit too

What was the terrific idea you ask?

Well, in Sem's honor, 100% of the weekend's snack bar profits will go towards buying the two to be named Seamen/Skorpions either a flight to London to see one of the NFL games there next Fall or pay for their entry fee to a football camp in Austria this Summer.

Sem's wife really liked the idea of doing something for the players in his honor.

I liked it too.

As for Monday, I had a lot of chores to do so it was not much to write about.

In the afternoon, Santa Barbara drove me to the Esselunga Supermarket for some much needed grocery shopping.

After another solid Esselunga experience, she then transported me to a small local hardware store to buy some . . .

. . . much needed hammers and
red and black spray paint

After all, our opening game of the 2019 DII season is this coming Sunday, on the road against the powerful Busto Arsizio Blue Storms.

Time to start getting the awards ready on Tuesday morning.

What are you going to do for the award the week you play the Monza Hammers?
