Start of the Camarillo Youth Basketball Association 2024 Season

Saturday, January 6, 2024

I may have still been in quarantine but the rest of the world was definitely not.

You see, today was the Opening Day of the Camarillo Youth Basketball Association's 2024 season.

Jacob is playing in the CYBA's Sixth Grade League for a team called simply the Orange.

I could not attend the game so Laurie grabbed the camera to take photos of the event to share with us today.

Orange just may be his color

Sharpening his shooting
eye before leaving his home

Apparently he had a good warm-up

Michael volunteered to run the
ever-important Possession Arrow

Bringing the ball down court

Keep that ball lower Jacob

REBOUND THAT BASKETBALL!

The old "Tickle His Arm Pit Defense"

Find the open man

Crazy running form in this photo

Impressive looking group

Mary was in the Camarillo Boys and
Girls Club Gym supporting Jacob

Nice Purple and Gold wrist band

Possession of the ball established
with both feet in bounds

Clearly, this was a catch.

Wrong sport, sorry.

Dribbling around the three point line

Shooting the first of two free throws,
relax in the lane

Much better running form

After being tied at the Half,
the Orange lost the Opener 38-27

Laurie said that the hustle and effort were both good today which is all I was hoping for while awaiting the news in my luxurious abode, a.k.a., COVID-19's Prison Block G, Cell 24.

After the game every one was all smiles
except Otto the Syracuse Orange

Hopefully, I will test negative for COVID-19 tomorrow at the conclusion of my five days of medication using the wonder drug Paxlovid to eradicate the pestilence once and for all.

If that is the case, then I'll be able to see Jacob's game next Saturday.
