A Challenging Few Days in America

Tuesday, November 5, 2024
This was the first of a series of days that had major impact on our lives, thus the delays in writing new blog posts.

This morning I followed up on something that Joanne and Paul Sabolić said to me at an El Camino Real football game a few weeks ago.

Their daughter Nicole and her husband Nick are interested in moving to Ventura County and had their eye on a vacant lot on  Highland Drive in Camarillo.

After dropping the grandkids off at school, I drove up to Highland Drive to take a few photos to send to Paul and Joanne so that they could get a better sense of the area that Nicole and Nick were interested in settling.

Highland Drive has incredible views
of Camarillo and of the Oxnard Plains

This view would, as it turned out, last for only another day.

We'll expand on this in our next post.

In American football news . . .

The L.A. Rams new helmets are
AWESOME!

Our friend Michael Wood will
be coaching the ELF team in
Zurich next season

The first, all-important College
Football Playoff Rankings came
out this evening

With still a month to go in the regular season plus conference championship games still to be played contested, lots can still change, stay tuned . . .

We also elected a President of the
United States of America

We did not vote for him but the majority of America did.

It's going to be a bumpy four years.

If you grew up in Southern California
in the 1950s and 1960s, you know
what this vehicle was all about

If you possess this knowledge, it leads me to believe that you had a good childhood.

Reading Is FUNdamental!

This was a great historical read with
lots of in-depth research about the
start of the American Civil War

Michael D'Antuono sent me a copy of this book and it thoroughly enthralled me from start to finish.

THANK YOU, MICHAEL!

Wednesday would be one of the strangest days of our 48 years living in Camarillo, stay tuned yet again . . .
