Travel Thursday

Thursday, November 7, 2024

We left Camarillo at 5:00 a.m. for the one hour drive to Los Angeles International Airport (LAX) with Koreen FitzGerald at the helm.

Our original flight plan called for an 11 hour non-stop flight from LAX to Santiago de Chile on LATAM Airlines.

That flight was canceled about a week before departure, thus forcing us to take a different route, at no extra cost, in part with LATAM's travel partner Delta Airlines.

We boarded this Delta flight for the
9:20 a.m. flight to . . .

. . . Florida's most interesting of cities

Our three hour layover allowed us
to enjoy a Cubano sandwich, plantain
chips and fried plantains

A heavenly dinner to be sure.

At 8:45 p.m., a LATAM flight would whisk us away from Miami for the eight hour flight to Santiago de Chile. This flight would arrive at the Chilean capital city at 7:00 a.m. on Friday.

Both flights turned out to be efficient and without any major incidence, thank goodness.

Good news from Camarillo

After Jacob's Pop Warner practice on Thursday, he and Michael drove by our still standing home.

It was good to see darkness behind the house and not that red glow from the night before.
