Sun.-Tues., March 31-April 2, 2024
This Easter Sunday was a quiet one for us having celebrated Christ Risen with the kids on Saturday.
Jacob and Mary enjoyed the
Easter Sunday services at
Padre Serra Church in Camarillo
We enjoyed this photo from last
Saturday's track meet of Jacob's speedy
4 x 400 Meters Relay team
It would appear that Jacob may be on the tall end of the spectrum for Camarillo Cosmos track team 12 year olds.
In Italy, Easter Monday is a holiday for
family and friends to meet and feast
on copious amounts of Italian delicacies
During our five years coaching in Catania and Varese, we found this to be the absolute best day of the year shared with friends around sumptuous food filled tables.
Good Times, INDEED!
Look up in the sky . . .
No, it was not Superman.
It was actually a rocket launched from Vandenberg Air Force Base in Lompoc, California on Monday night.
On Tuesday, with everyone in Michael's family on Spring Break, I was joined by Michael and Mary for a trip to San Marino to help my sister Linda by claiming and taking a few items from my Mother's home.
The process of cleaning out a huge five bedroom, five bathroom home after 65 years of habitation is indeed a daunting task which will take months to accomplish as it turns out.
Before getting to work though we needed nutrients.
Ancient Chico's Mexican Restaurant
in Highland Park was the call
It was Taco Tuesday after all.
Mary liked Chico's colorful murals
Who doesn't love a sombrero wearing, smiling red hot chili pepper?
Good smile Mary, now if you would
just open your eyes for the camera
Is that a flying taco?
Mary and her love for art
The tacos were good and the salsa, which Mary thankfully avoided, was atomic on the heat scale, but not at the Habanero level that I fear.
I loved it!
Once sated we headed to San Marino and did indeed take home a car full of items. While helpful to the problem, I'm afraid that no one would even begin to notice that anything was missing.
It's a start.
Meanwhile, in Las Vegas . . .
. . . grandson Kevin was back in school
playing another middle school soccer game
Kevin, on the left with the bright orange shoes, had his Spring Break last week.
On Tuesday, his Canarelli M.S. Colts (2-1-1) were at home for their game against the Faiss M.S. Flyers.
Kevin had a lot of playing time in the Faiss game playing at the Center Back spot.
It was another solid performance by the Colts as they improved their record to 3-1-1 after cruising past the Flyers 9-0.
Crossing the pond . . .
Most, but not all, of EuroBall did not schedule games during the Easter weekend. This coming weekend we are looking at full slates across the board.
In the IFL, only the 2-2 Torino Giaguari
have a bye in Week 5 play

This one between the Skorpions (3-0) and the defending IFL Champion Panthers (2-1) should be a dandy.
The team that we coached in Switzerland
in 2012, the Thun Tigers, did play this
past weekend
On Saturday, the Tigers (1-0) opened their 2024 season with a 33-21 victory over the Winterthur Warriors (0-2).
This poster announces the Tigers home game this Saturday versus the St. Gallen Bears (0-0).

Back home, news from the NCAA . . .

first Spring Practices of the new
