We begin with a middle school soccer update from Las Vegas, Nevada, USA.

Kevin's Canarelli M.S. Colts were at home against the Garside Jr. H.S. Gladiators.
The Gladiators won the first game with the Colts 7-4 back in late March.
It was a bit closer today but Garside prevailed again, 3-1, to drop the Canarelli squads record to 6-3-1. The Colts have four more games on their 2024 regular season slate.
When we picked up Jacob and Mary for school on Thursday we noted something amiss.
Our little miss, Mary, had
red highlights in her hair
But why?
Mary, colorfully dressed as always,
was wearing her Amistad House t-shirt
I had absolutely no idea what that meant so, of course, I Googled it.
Apparently this is part of the nationwide Ron Clark Academy House System that promotes positive climates and cultures at schools.
At her school, Mary is part of the Amistad House. The word amistad means friendship in Spanish. The Amistad House color is red, thus the red hair dye and shirt.
The mythical origins of the Amistad House come from Mexico and is made up of a band of kind but powerful people known for their unconquered spirit.
Mary was excited about her "House" and we fully supported her.

The ongoing operation of emptying my mother's home before selling it continues. This week we received the two pieces of furniture that we wanted to keep in the family.

In Italy's DI IFL the Legnano Frogs (2-2)
host the Varese Skorpions (4-0)
The only other DI IFL game this weekend
sees the Ancona Dolphins (4-0)
hosting the Bologna Warriors (0-5)
Both of these IFL games are set for Saturday.
If both the Skorpions and Dolphins win this weekend and with both clubs having byes the following weekend, it would set up a lollapalooza of an IFL game on Sunday, May 5th between two 5-0 teams.
They are currently the last two undefeated teams in the IFL.
On Sunday, the 7-1 Osos Rivas host the
5-3 L'Hospitalet Pioners in Madrid
This is a Spanish DI Serie A Semi-Final playoff.
The 8-0 Badalona Dracs host the
7-1 Las Rozas Black Demons in Saturday's
other Serie A Semi-Final Game
Sunday's Serie A Relegation Game sees
the Alcobendas Cavaliers (0-8) on the
road against the Barcelona Pagesos (0-8)
This match-up reminds me of Boise, Idaho's old Humanitarian Bowl for some reason.

The Stockholm Mean Machines are currently 2-0 in Swedish Super Serien play. Their opponents are the U.K.'s Manchester Titans who are 1-0 in British Premiership League play.
