A Quiet Day in Kihei

Thursday, May 13, 2021

As has become our habit, Mark Johnson and I took off on our daily early morning walk in order to beat the heat.

These strolls have been a shock to my usually lethargic pandemic induced habits but they are most necessary.

On our walks we enjoy the usual chats that friends engage in on vacations while seeing many a serene sight in this island paradise.

After many days traveling all over the island at a frenetic pace, today we mostly vegged in the Johnson's seaside condo.

We enjoyed a nice sunset

On a Physical Fitness note, today I took 14,706 steps which equals SIX miles.

In our first week on Maui I've averaged 8,102 steps a day.

During our previous seven days in Camarillo I only averaged 2,367 steps a day.

What a nice, relaxing vacation we are having.

News from the Net . . .

So, so true

They say Italy is open to tourism again

Goodness knows how much I hope that this is true.

In the evening, we turned on the TV to watch a replay of the 1990 Hawaiian high school playoff game between Kahuku and Radford played in Aloha Stadium.

The Kahuku H.S. Head Coach was Doug Semones who I recommended to Bart Iaccarino to be the Defensive Coordinator for the Barcelona Dragons in the inaugural season of this Summer's European League of Football.

I wonder if Doug will be rocking
his classic Bike polyester coaching
shorts or the Mohawk/Mullet
crossover hairdo again in Spain?
