Another week, another Camino League game . . .
Royal Highlanders
3-5 on the season
1-0 in the Camino League
at
Newbury Park Panthers
6-2 on the season
1-0 in the Camino League
In the abbreviated Camino League three game schedule, there is little margin for error.
This week's game brought together the two winners from the inaugural week of the newly created Camino League season. Thus, the winner of the Royal at Newbury Park contest would take home at least a share of the 2014 Camino League championship with only one more game remaining on the schedule.
To review, last week Newbury Park defeated Camarillo 17-14 while Royal cruised past Thousand Oaks 31-14.
Pre-Game Meeting with the Refs
The referee in the black hat is Diego Renteria who played for us when I still coached at Rio Mesa H.S. He is a good young referee who takes his craft seriously.

One More Game in the Panther Season
Our final game of the 2014 season will be next Friday, November 7th at Thousand Oaks High School. Our uninterrupted rivalry with the crosstown Lancers stretches back to 1970.
The Lancer JVs are having a tough season at 0-7-1, 0-2 in the Camino League but in a rivalry game strange things can happen. We can not let up if we want to keep the entire Camino League title to ourselves.
The Thosand Oaks season has unfolded thusly:
Tied San Juan Hills 17-17
Lost to Canyon 17-39
Lost to Highland 13-18
Lost to West Ranch 12-39
Lost to Simi Valley 6-48
Lost to Agoura 22-41
Cancelled their game with Oaks Christian
Lost to Royal 14-31
Lost to Camarillo 6-34
BEAT T.O.!!!
