Star Wars Day 2026

Yes, it was Star Wars Day in the known universe.

The day started off with a confirmation from Phillip Dillon of Poland's Zabki Dukes that he had received the two boxes of helmets, shirts and socks that I had sent him a few weeks ago.

He asked if we had acquired any new donated used items.

Why, yes, yes we did.

We have sent the Dukes several boxes over the years to help their program grow steadily and they have always been extremely appreciative.

We also added a few other surprise

items to the Dukes' box

In the afternoon, I dropped the box off at our local Polonez Shipping agent's office in Oxnard and the box was on its way to a new home in Zabki, a suburb of Warsaw, Poland.

I've noticed a strange occurrence when I weigh in the last few Sundays after taking lots of steps at Mary and Jacob's track meets on Saturdays, my weight drops.

Is there some sort of connection?

I decided to investigate walking a bit more this week to see if there is actually a correlation between moderate exercise and weight loss.

I know, hard to fathom but let's give it a whirl.

After dropping off the Zabki Dukes box, I headed over to a scenic spot to go for a lengthy stroll.

Then I realized that #19 Washington is ranked behind fellow BIG-10 Conference members #1 Oregon, #3 Ohio State, #4 Indiana, #10 Southern California, #12 Michigan and #15 Penn State.

That makes the UW #19 in this national ranking but only seventh best in the conference.
