The 63rd Annual Camarillo Christmas Parade

Today's activities were so varied that I decided to break them down into two separate blogposts.

Here is Part I of the day's doings, The 63rd Annual Camarillo Christmas Parade.

Remember that Camarillo is basically a small, rural town that takes great pride in being just that with the urban sprawl of Los Angeles being just a half hour away.

This fun parade is a distinct part of the city's identity.

Our two grandchildren who live in Camarillo would be part of this year's parade.

Move over Pasadena, your Rose Parade in a few weeks has nothing on this!

First, we needed to find a good spot to watch the parade.

In high school, Laurie drove a

1956 Thunderbird just like this

Always a BIG hit at the parade,

the Ventura County Model A Club

Vintage . . .

. . . and still . . .

. . . quite beautiful vehicles from

a bygone era

Tractors . . .

. . . both old . . .

. . . and new

We are still a farming community after all is said and done.

Her entire dance group has their Christmas Recital tomorrow at Rancho Campana H.S. in Camarillo.

It should be another fun event, can't wait.

It was another smashing success of a parade. Hats off to the organizers!

When we got home, we found our

neighbors gawking at this egret

perched on our roof

We quickly joined in the gawking.

The morning's activities now over, we packed up the car for our next Adventure.

We were headed to SoFi Stadium

for The Bucked Up LA Bowl

hosted by Gronk,  featuring our

Washington Huskies and the

Boise State Broncos
