Today marked the completion of . . .
. . . this young man's 77th
complete orbit of the Sun
A bit older but probably not wiser,
this mature gentleman celebrated the
day with friends at Dodger Stadium
Milwaukee Brewers
First Place National League Central
52 Wins - 38 Losses
at
Los Angeles Dodgers
First Place National League West
55 Wins - 35 Losses
A pre-game meal in the fan friendly
area behind centerfield was a MUST!
We had happily accepted Paul and Joanne Sabolić's invitation to join them at today's Brewers-Dodgers game on this toasty Sunday afternoon.
Dodger Dogs, beers and hot dates. What a way to celebrate a birthday!
Great seats were a bonus
Batter Up!
Between the heat and the end of the long Fourth of July weekend, attendance at the game was a tad sparse.
About to belt out "Take Me Out to the
Ballgame" during the Seventh Inning Stretch
We were crooning, too
By this time, we had moved to seats much closer to the shade as it was SCORCHING!
If only Dodger Shohei Ohtani had
hit an EIGHT run Grand Slam in the
Ninth Inning, we would have won
He did not as the Brewers won 9-2.
Only one thing to do to heal our psyches after the lopsided loss . . .
TACOS at Chico's in nearby
Highland Park
Joanne was over the moon for this
colorful spot in an eclectic barrio
Chico's loves its murals
Me too.
A BIG Thank You to Paul and Joanne for hosting us on this glorious Sunday that was also my birthday.
Memorable.
Week #7 on the ELF season
continued today
The Berlin Thunder (4-3) trounced
the Ferhérvár Enthroners (0-6)
Solid pre-game poster for the
Paris-Hamburg game
No contest, the Paris Musketeers (4-1)
beat the Hamburg Sea Devils (2-3)
In a close one, The Wroclaw Panthers (3-4)
outlasted the Prague Lions (0-7)
Ducats were available at ticketmaster
OUCH! The Rhein Fire (6-1) blasted
the Cologne Centurions (1-4)
Four of eight games were blowouts
with winning margins of
54, 53, 47 and 31 points
There are too many "no contest" scores like this every ELF weekend which is not good in the long run in my opinion.
Only the Stuttgart Surge (5-0) and
Vienna Viking (7-0) remain unscathed
The ELF Standings after Week #7
European League of Football
Week #8 Schedule
Saturday, July 13, 2024
Ferhérvár (0-6) at Prague (0-7)
Cologne (1-4) at Frankfurt (2-3)
Helvetic (1-5) at Vienna (7-0)
Madrid (4-1) at Barcelona (2-5)
Sunday, July 14, 2024
Stuttgart (5-0) at Tirol (5-2)
Berlin (4-3) at Paris (4-1)
Rhein (6-1) at Hamburg (2-3)
Week #8 Byes
Milano (3-4), Munich (3-3)
and Wroclaw (3-4)
I'm looking forward to the Fehérvár Enthroners (0-6) at Prague Lions (0-7) game. Someone gets a win at long last.
After this weekend's turmoil in Barcelona, will the Dragons (2-5) have a team to suit up against the Madrid Bravos (4-1)?
Sunday's games between Stuttgart Surge (5-0) and Tirol Raiders
(5-2) should be highly competitive.
The Berlin Thunder (4-3) at Paris Musketeers (4-1) game will be a dandy one as well I suspect.
I agree with this Virginia Tech fan
One of our Gang of Four was tutored in
this culinary fact to some extent at Chico's
This may have been the root
of my love for my bride
On to the start of my 78th orbit of the Sun . . .
