Great-Grandma Chuny's 99th Birthday

Sun.-Wed., August 13-16, 2023

On Tuesday we gathered at my Mother's skilled nursing home in Pasadena to celebrate.

Great Grand-Children Leo, Max,
Jacob and Mary were there to
help celebrate her 99th birthday

That was the reason we wore #99 jerseys
from the Brazil Onças, Camarillo Stingers,
Los Angeles Rams and Cleveland Browns

Great-Grandma just had to play
a game of Dominoes with Jacob

It was her birthday, she wanted to play Dominoes.

Her wish was our demand.

Of course, she won as usual.

Chuny with her three children
George, Linda and Marilyn

That is one good looking cake

It was delicious too!

I'm glad to say that she enjoyed her party as did we.

On to news from EuroBall . . .

The Munich Ravens 32-30
win over the Stuttgart Surge
was the big news from Week 11
of the European League of Football

Here are the ELF's conference standings with just three more weekends left in the 2023 regular season.

The Frankfurt Galaxy still are
within striking distance of the
Rhein Fire

The Stuttgart Surge, Tirol Raiders
and Munich Ravens are all still
in the playoff hunt

The Vienna Vikings are in cruise
control mode with the Berlin Thunder
and Wroclaw Panthers battling for a
slot in post-season play

Some interesting ELF games
this coming weekend

The Berlin Thunder (6-3) at Wroclaw Panthers (6-4) game will give the winner a solid lock on the second place in the Eastern Conference.

The Pride of Austria game will see the Tirol Raiders (7-2) at the Vienna Vikings (9-0).

Finally, the Rhein Fire (9-0) at the fast charging, dangerous Munich Ravens (5-4) should be a dandy.

Both clubs are 9-0

Seven clubs are just playing
for pride these next three weeks

From Left to Right we have the Prague Lions (1-8), Fehérvár Enthroners (2-7), Cologne Centurions (2-7), Helvetic Guards (3-7), Barcelona Dragons (2-7), Milano Seamen (2-7) and Paris Musketeers (3-6).

Between the "Clinched" and "Eliminated" categories we still have seven ELF teams with at least mathematical chances of getting into the playoffs. These clubs, with lots to play for down the stretch, are the Frankfurt Galaxy (8-1), Stuttgart Surge (7-2), Tirol Raiders (7-2), Berlin Thunder (6-3), Wroclaw Panthers (6-4), Munich Ravens (5-4) and Hamburg Sea Devils (4-5),

The #16 Prague Lions (1-8) at
#15 Fehérvár Enthroners (2-7)
contest on Saturday should
be a real barnburner!

Our beloved Washington Huskies
open their last PAC-12 season ranked
#10 in the pre-season AP poll

GO DAWGS!

Actually, I'd prefer a
Diet Dr. Pepper
