The Routine Continues . . .

Fri.-Fri., Jan. 27-Feb. 3, 2023

The days continue to flash by filled mainly with the almost daily drives to Pasadena to visit my Mother in her skilled nursing facility.

Her progress is slow but her days are full of activities.

Mom LOVES to color!

On Saturday, Jacob's Grade 5 Wildcats team (2-1) played a CYBA basketball game against the also 2-1 Tigers.

The Wildcats were ready!

Driving to the hoop!

Jacob made this Free Throw

The Wildcats had a slow start trailing the Tigers at the end of the First Quarter by a tally of 8-2.

Jacob has become a solid rebounder

He is a good passer as well

Running on Defense

Chasing down a loose ball

A strong Second Quarter by the Wildcats made it 10-10 at the Halftime intermission.

Shuffling his feet on defense

Over the back foul?

Dribbling out to rest the Offense

The Wildcats kept the pressure on as the Third Quarter ended with the Wildcats ahead, 16-13.

Another rebound for #5

This shot went in for two points

Here come's a double team

One last huddle before
the end of the game

The Wildcats held the slimmest of leads, 21-20, with only a few seconds left in the game.

Just as the buzzer was about to sound the Tigers put up a hurried, desperation shot that hit the back of the rim, bounced straight up about five feet and then returned to Earth via a route right down the middle of the net for the winning two points.

Final Score
Tigers (3-1) 22 - Wildcats (2-2) 21

As for Jacob, he scored a total of six points on two made Field Goals and two made Free Throws.

These six points bring Jacob's two season career scoring totals to exactly . . . six points.

Shades of LeBron James . . .

A LOT of truth in this

Laurie and I stopped celebrating Valentine Day a long time ago.

Instead, Laurie and I celebrate
Ground Hog Day

This was our 57th Groundhog Day together and a good one again.

Still, I think that we would both like to be in Italy.

Last Fall we visited our friend/coach
Bumba Bianchi in Milano as he
started a new coaching job with
Milano Seamen's U21 team

Bumba's U21 won the National Championship.

AWESOME!

The NFL's Conference Championship games were played over the weekend.

The NFC #1 seeded, 16-3 Eagles
defeated the 49ers, 31-7

The AFC #1 seeded, 16-3 Chiefs
edged out the Bengals, 23-20

Having both #1 seeds with each
sporting a 16-3 record should make
for a GREAT Super Bowl

If anyone is looking for a high school
Head Coaching job in a high paying
district, there are a whopping
FIVE job opportunities for you!

Even zombies have their
physical fitness requirements

Reading Is FUNdamental!

Rabid Cuban exiles, international CIA spy

What's not to like?
